In the center of Charleston’s restaurant district is a unique and excellent dining establishment.
A unique name ( 5Church Restaurant ) is a favorite spot for fine dining.
Everybody works together to make your dining experience come together. As crowded as it gets your dining experience doesn’t suffer at all. You actually forget others are around.
It seems that every time we escape to Charleston for a weekend getaway we find something new to talk about. Tucked away on a side street off of King Street we find a new restaurant to boast about. While Esther ducked into a new shop that carries unique accessories I ventured down the alley next door and found this spot to have a salad for lunch.
Brunch is served in the green house in the second oldest restaurant in Charleston. I was too close to the building to see the beauty of the front of the building it until we were leaving. Every thing about this place meets the standard of a great place to dine. The décor, the menu and the staff are all above par.
A 300-year-old address nestled in downtown Charleston’s historic French Quarter for the past 34 years.
Just had a fresh and tasty meal in the new Urban Cook-House restaurant on Lake Murray Blvd. in Irmo, South Carolina. The meal was delicious and I ran into my old buddy Ralph also. Ralph's grandson owns this eatery and several others around the Southeast. I love the menu items, the staff is friendly and my wife is still talking about the décor. It's good to have a local restaurant with local food made fresh everyday. Urban CookHouse is a great addition to this area.
Columbia, SC will certainly smell better on April 30. That is when close to forty food trucks will arrive at the fairgrounds. There will also be brewers of all types of beer along with them.
The South Carolina Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival is noon-7 p.m. April 30 at the State Fairgrounds on Columbia.

The city of Charleston, SC has been named the Friendliest City by several international magazines. I believed that before the press and love to take day trips whenever I am able. This weekend was the wife's birthday and of course she jumped at the chance of carousing the streets of the friendly city. I am never disappointed on the food, sightseeing, history, music, celebrations and everything else going on. It just so happened that this past Sunday was the 2nd. Sunday of the month. And, on the 2nd Sunday of every month there is a King Street Party. After church is the perfect time to bring the family, the dogs and friends to walk, shop and eat on King Street.
You will not regret making up any reason to join in on the 2nd Sunday in Charleston event.
is a quiet spot to have brunch, lunch or a great dinner.
The atmosphere is just as you would expect any nice Southern Restaurant. You can come in comfortable for lunch but you might want to spruce up for dinner.
Prices are reasonable and the service is great.
Daily specials are available. However, you will no doubt end up with a favorite.
Crap-cakes, Shrimp, Bacon Burgers, are the lunch favorites and the dinner ..well just ask for the special of the night. You will enjoy.
Okay... I had to really look for good news today. This past week and weekend can try and force you into a negative track. However... Joy comes in the morning. And, speaking of mornings, Sunday Brunch is getting better in Charleston SC. #Fish will now serve brunch.
A great spot in the heart of Charleston on King Street.
If you will remember, I had this year's anniversary dinner there. The staff and even the customers there ended up making this one of our best.
There is always something new on the menu so I can't give any specifics. When you visit just try whatever the waitress suggest. And, I'm sure you'll be fine.
Thanks again Charleston SC, & Mt.Pleasant SC for another great event. The SweetGrass Cultural Arts Festival 2015 was another hot event. Not only was the weather hot but the event went over well.
Of course after the show King Street is the wife's favorite place.
There is also another spot I want to mention on Mt. Pleasant. We were heading back to the hotel and I mentioned that I would love a good Italian Dinner. No sooner than the words left my mouth we pass a restaurant on US-17 called Bacco.
Also Serment on Kingstreet is always great place for lunch. I also found Caviar & Bananas to be a good coffee spot while the wife get a pedicure and nail touch-up.
“Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Not only were they all onboard in helping
to get a reservation for a special night, they also rose above expectation in
friendliness. Unlike most top-shelf restaurants, the atmosphere was very
relaxed. I understand the menu will change however the old menu had enough of a
variety to please anyone or group. My wife's duck was excellent and flat-iron
was great. It is nice that she will always have the old menu with the special
mesaage on it form Husk. This is definitely a place to check out in one of the
nicest cities in the world.
Update 5/20/2014
Husk has two locations — the other's in Nashville — but the Charleston branch made our list because it ranked fairly high on The Daily Meal list, at No. 12.
Just above Lake Murray in Ballentine, SC is a spot tucked in the corner, behind an Ace Hardware store is a little paradise. Peanuts, candies, ice cream, popcorn and more fills the walls and counters.
I am sure that you will be able to find something that fits your fancy. Be prepared to buy more than you expect. When you have a bag full of treats there will be something else calling out to you.
Don't worry, if you are a fitness guru...you deserve it. If you are not...it won't matter.
I am a fan of the Peachtree Street Restaurant (Faith Miller, GM.)
The menu may change every time we get there but each dining experience is well worth the trip. If we are close to Peachtree Street we are going to stop in at Houston's/ The atmosphere is always friendly and inviting. This time the crispy chicken sandwich was a change from regular fried chicken on Sunday. As an extra surprise, the grilled beans became my new favorites.
