Ready And Waiting

All the work is done.
My ladies are ready and  I am also for the Okra Strutt this weekend.
They say an artist is not appreciated in his home town. Let's hope that the saying is just what it is...an old saying. I am looking forward to a great showing and sale.

It's Meatball Day

It's Greek Fest time in Columbia, SC. This means one thing for me...meatballs. I have no idea what's in them but they have my name on them. Icannot turn them down. I have allowed two days to pass while they called out to me. And, now I must give in.

My wife has other ideas.

Remember what I said about a grill earlier. I am stuffed on meatballs and still this grill sings out.

Go get some meatball folks.

Smok'n Hot Season

Hot dogs, brats, sausages or whatever on the grill always tastes better during football season. I am not a Vegan and I respect their view. So please skip over this section if you are. I just want to talk to those who enjoy the smell and great taste of a sausage from the grill. Why is it that you could have already had a good meal but as soon as you pass something on the cooking on grill your head turns to it like a compass needle to north? I don't know about you but as much as I try to watch what I eat this time of the year seems to be the hardest to stay on course. i have to work out extra hard just to maintain.
Am I the only one like this? My main culprit is sausage.
If you are like me what's yours

Kodos and Wish list

This is one of if not the best season starts that I have seen the gamecocks have. Looking back at the two games (East carolina and Georgia) will only cause more questions to pop up.

What if's

In any of the games the offense came out with all cylinders pumping.
Penalties were keep down
The ball wasn't as slippery in the East Carolina game
Kick-off and punt return teams could tackle better

This is just a small wish list.
After all to averge 50+ points in your first two games aint to shabby. Kodos to the team, Coach Spurrier and staff on getting through when you have to get through. That is all that counts. A W is always a W no matter how you get it.

Remembering

WTC

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
