Ellipitcal Ease

More and more I'm finding out that the adjustments made on the workout levels on the elliptical machine gives me an advantage that the treadmill or bike doesn't. I hate waiting for the treadmill to elevate or lower  while I'm on it. It always seems awkward. The elliptical machine does it without hesitation even on wide ranges. The bike is a different story. Unless you have time to wait on a class the spinner is out of the question, while sitting on a recumbent bike is also awkard. I alo notice that the elliptical keep me closer to running pace when I do get back outside.

Gulf Stream by Winslow Homer

I don't know why I am still drawn to this painting. With all that is going on around him the expression on this drifter is at ease. I am reminded of this painting and the expression during tough times in my life. God is in control and will never put more on you than you can handle. This was also the very first painting that I copied to exact measurements.  As a college assignment, we were instructed to use the same techniques as the original painter (Winslow Homer). At the time I had was very upset to have to create something that someone else had already made money on. Needless to say that assignment disciplined me and allowed me to appreciate the step process.
However, I have not copied any other painting and my copied artwork still hangs in my mother’s home.

Creative Moods Can't be Bottled

Getting ready for a show is often always more stressful than the actual show. The best thing to do is to step back and take a break every now and then. Let your mind rest before starting a new piece. Remember that this is something you enjoy doing. Creativity cannot be bottled and poured out at will. Often what comes out started months ago in your mind? If you are too pressed for doing and not creating you will not be pleased with what comes out. Now that I have got all that out I feel so much better now.
