A Tongue Twitter

Its A Tongue Twitter

A conversation between friends can now become international news in the blink of an eye. It amazes me the things that I read on Twitter and Facebook. The thing is you would think that the culprits would only be young naïve adolescent pre-high-school children. However, the more the internet becomes a daily event for more and more, we see conversations all the way up to senior citizens. Just last week I read a heated exchange that started with a anger aunt talking about her sister. The nephew tried to calm the conversation down and discourage the aunt form posting family business online. The aunt had a few words for him also. Soon other members of the family joined in and we now have a family feud going international.

The internet has always been questionable when it comes to whether it is a good thing or a bad thing. Some people see it as evil and Satan, while others use it only to work with and still others use it to vent, inform or just to keep up with world events. The bible says that the tongue is to be tamed.

(Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Psalm 34:13)

What we fail to see when posting words on Twitter, Facebook, etc., is that your fingers become your tongue. The words that appear on your screen are also credited to you if your fingers did the typing. Anonymous is not unseen by the person that matters the most. God doesn't need to look u any code or trace any internet feed. He has and always will know where you are, what you are doing, and what you are saying whether it is said form your tongue through your lips or through your tongue by finger.

So, whether we believe the internet and the fast development of international communications is a good or bad thing, the only thing we have true control of is what comes from our tongue.
