In Columbia ,
SC yesterday a portrait of the
late Senator Clemente Pinckney was unveiled in a crowded Senate Chambers. The
portrait was painted by a local and fellow artist Larry Lebby. Members of Emmanuel AME church and community
along with South Carolina
citizens of various regions came to give respect.
In memory of the late Senator, my wife and University of South
Carolina administrator gave each family member snippets
of a Hydrangea. The roots with for and the plant can be place in a place that
will give the Senator recognition every year. I watch as she cut each peace and
placed in water bags. While she placed them in coolers for travel, I asked how
why? After hearing the explanation I knew that the families would be
appreciative of the gesture.
May the memory of what happened leads us to joy and not
hate.
You intended to harm
me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the
saving of many lives. Genesis 5:20
