Something new! by CIU Professor Rick Higgins

Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:18-19)

500,000 Reasons for a Big Bass

It's great news for the fishermen in Irmo, SC. The Super Bowl of Fishing is heading back to the best fishing hole in the South...Lake Murray. I look forward to seeing the colorful boats jetting around looking for the best spot to pull the best bass up. According to The State newspaper August of 2014 Lake Murray will host the nation's largest bass fishing championship in August of 2014.
FLW Outdoors has chosen Lake Murray for the 2014 Forrest Wood Cup.

I look forward to my friend Ryan Small to pull in the first place $5000,000

South Carolina Palm Trees

Seeing the palmetto tree and crescent moon logo everywhere does not have the same significance without the history behind it. One may think that the palmetto tree design is for the laid back good times abundant on the beaches in South Carolina and yet it is for the bravery of our fighting men. Charleston, South Carolina and Sullivan's Island have played a huge role in our nation's history. Every year on June 28th Charleston celebrates the day that Sir Peter Parker left our ports free from British rule. This June 28th celebrate Carolina Day by putting up your own palmetto tree and crescent moon symbol.

It's Chicken-man Time

/

Columbia artist
Ernest Lee

Just off the corner of Harden and Gervais Streets in Columbia, SC is a very familiar site to most locals . It's where artist Ernest Lee set's up his tent and sell the original Chicken-man paintings. even though he is there all year, football season seems to be the time that you think about the Chicken-man. His famous chicken paintings come in an array of backgrounds, colors and themes. You can even request a new type if you don't see anything you like.
I love to see another artist do well. If you are in Columbia, SC stop by and tell him you where told about his artwork through a friend.

Well Life: Victorious Man (Total Praise)

Stunning Graffiti

It's a shame that his work has to be produced in secret.
The reason is simple. DALeast is a graffiti art.  DALeast, who doesn't reveal his real name, lives in Cape Town but travels world tagging walls in different continents.

Extremely large works of art done in a swift manner are not only stunningly beautiful they are also genius in designs. C;ick through to see his other works.
