Church Steeples

 

 

The church steeple has always been a symbol of how much the society thinks of their religion. Most old churches have steeples that leave no doubt about where the people were in mind and location. The path to church was lead by the steeple. You could always look up and find a safe place to worship no matter where you were. Charleston, SC has some of the most unique and highest steeples. No wonder people feel as if the friendliness rubs off onto them when they visit it.

 

Today however many churches have opted out of tall steeples.

UK's Banksy Goes To School

 

 

British Pop-Artist Banksy does work during school break. The janitor was about to remove, thinking it as random vandalism. The head teacher at the school however was sent a note of authenticity by the artist.

 

A SweetGrass Weekend

 Once again Charleston, SC shows the friendliness of the city as well as the visitors.

The weekend started and ended with smiles and great conversations. We meet new locals and found all fiends as well tourist. It always amazes me how creative people become to travel with an art piece to take back home with them.

Many have asked me; "Where did the straw hat inspiration come from?

Well, it has always been a Southern accessory for looks as well as the sun.

 Sunday hats are a must in most Southern churches. The traditional may not have started in the United States or Southern but it seems that when you think of wide brim straw hats everything comes up South.

 

 

I am always happy to take part in the Gullah cultured

Sweet-Grass Arts Festival. The fellowship with all of the vendors have grown over the years.

at Memorial Waterfront Park in Mount Pleasant.  



Entertainment will include the Secret Band, the Imani Milele Children's Choir, Adande African Drummers and Dancers, and Gullah Storytellers.  There is no charge for admission or for parking.
