A Rush to Interview and a Rush to Judge Equals Bemusement

 

 

Maybe it's because I admire a passionate person or maybe it's because I admire a person confident in what he does on the field but I thought it odd that everyone jumped on a football player for an interview two minutes after a super play on the field, that also caused his team to play in one of the greatest arenas of sports and in what most call the center of the world.

Erin Andrews should have known that would be a possibility. Her reaction was more surprising than Sherman’s. Let’s examine the scenario. In the loudest stadium in the NFL and at the most celebrated time possible, it had to be extremely loud (ya think?) I don’t even think Sherman even listen to the question. All he wanted to do was celebrate what he just did on the field. If you listen to what he said, he wasn’t directing any of his answer to anyone listening. It was a statement to Crabtree and whoever on the 49er’s team that had said something or things that he heard through the grapevine about him. There is no love for the two players.

I was wondering what would have happened had Sherman had more time to come down from the playmakers-high he was on. Well, with out much digging there is an interview that does that. Take the time to look at them both and then make your comment.

Winslow Homer's Gulf Stream

 

 

Maybe it was the sharks, maybe it was the tonado or maybe it was the sinking ship but this painting by Winslow Homer caught my attention in college. It became my first exact copy study. the more I painted the more fascinated I was with the details. The light, and darkness along with the danger and hope. Where was this distressed person coming from and where was he trying to go? Can he see the ship in the ditance? Why is he so calm? Who's blood is that in the water? There are so many directions that a writer could take.

Maybe you have a few ideas about it.

Review:

The special effects will leave you wondering if you are seeing what you are seeing. I know that sound and speed control plays with your mind but there are scenes that make me think that there has to have been serious injuries in making this movie.

All of the actor. including Marcus Luttrell, deserve applause  for their special attention to details  and how they handled their parts but Mark Wahlberg  and Ben Foster are without a doubt excellent.

Definitely worth watching two or more times.

Dangerous Art

A photographer gets a little too close to the fire for me. I am all for creativity and I love to explore the new and unusual but this takes things to a whole different level.

Dam Locks Showing Up On Lake Murray

Something new is happening at the dam. It seems that someone has started a trend. Locks are showing up on the Lexington side of the dam. I don't know if it is against the law to leave a lock on the fence but it looks like the trend is catching on real fast. I wonder is the people where smart enough to store the keys in a safe place.

 

 

 

Update

The locks on the dam started out looking like a neat idea. However, lately there are locks being put up without a since of aesthetics

I now see bike locks, large groups of different color locks and even bouquets of flowers. I am all for individuality and art appreciation but please please

 

Lets' keep the Dam Locks clean.
