Clamp It Down

I really don’t care if I’m on the right or wrong end of this argument. And, I really don't see how I can be wrong. It’s just common sense to me to want to be as safe as possible while using objects that can and will injure you or someone around you if not using precautions.

 

This is what I see everyday in the gym. A person using barbells to do reps but will not take the few seconds to clamp the weight to stabilize the bar (Most of the times without a spotter.) Is this crazy or what? To top things off,  the same person takes the longest recovery time. That's another story. I can’t think of any reason for someone not to clamp the weights to be a good idea. Maybe someone can  let me know. There is way too many things to go wrong for this to be safe.

 

1. Weights shift and cause you to pull, strain or tear a muscle.

2. Weights fall off and hurt someone passing by.

3. Weights fly off an causes club damage.

4. Shift of weight and concentration loss causing broken bone or your death.  

 

 Please for your safety and everyone else around you, take the extra seconds to put clamps on.

The Rules of Being A Pedestrian or Driver

If you are walking, jogging or running you are a what is called a pedestrian. And, if you are on a bicycle on the road you are considered a vehicle and you must abide by the rules of a driver.

Often I see people walking or jogging (on a road without a side walk) on the wrong side of the road. The wrong side of the road for a pedestrian is the side where you are not facing the on coming vehicles.

 I also see the same with cyclist. The wrong side for a cyclist is where you are facing on coming vehicles.

Maybe these people I see are doing this intentionally. However, I think that most do it out of ignorance of the rules of the road.

 

You would think  that this article is about kids but that's not the case. I see adults as well as kids doing the same thing. Growing up, I can remember being drilled on the rules over and over. As a matter of fact we even had days where we practiced the signals in class to make sure we knew how to do them. I don't know if this is still done or not. For your own safety as well as drivers please use the rules of the road. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to take all precautions to be safe or to teach your kids safety.

What Is The Dutch Reach?

 

 

Have you heard of The Dutch Reach?

 

Well... I can say I haven't. This makes a lot of since but it will take a great deal of practice. Having been doing the opposite for life, to switch will be a chore. The benefits however will be for you and others on the road. Simply by using the opposite hand to open the car door forces you to look in the direction of danger and to open the car door with out the fast outward swing that we are accustom to doing. By doing this passing motorist and cyclist will thank you.

I am going to practice the Dutch Reach starting today.

Please protect yourself, your kids and anyone else you know from doing something irresponsible. Words Never End

Sounds and words are forms of energy like water ripples that never really dissipate.

They simply join in the travel with all the other sounds.

The waves travel millions of miles bouncing off of object after object  and planet after planet. Finally, when the waves arrive  at a place where they form huge word-waves that scares the hell out of another form of life.

Prayer is our way of communication with the control center. Be prepared.

 

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil.
