In his first appearance and first at-bat as a Firefly in Columbia, SC Former Florida Gator standout and Pro Football player Tim Tebow hits a two run homer. The FireFlies are glowing. It could've have stated any better for the season. A full house for the opening day game with celebrity Tim Tebow knocking one out of the park, will definitely help the ticket booth sales.

There is a lot happening (in sports) in the city in such a short time.

Firefly Tim Tebow goes yard again in Sundays (April 9th) game.

 

 

For the second time in as many games Tim Tebow knocks one out of the park.

This time a three run homer. Tim and Columbia are having fun.

April brings the best golfers to Augusta, Georgia. Columbia, South Carolina is just about an hours drive away with many luxury hotels and a great night-life atmosphere, so you know this is where the golfers and wannabe golfers spend their nights after a long day walking the course following the pros.

Southern State Of Mind

Country singer and Gamecock alum. will keep his word to the Gamecock Nation. His promise to perform a concert if the football team won six games and get into a bowl will be fulfilled tonight. It looks like more than a sandstorm is brewing in the city but I don't think the students will mind. He has promised them a show and from what the word is there may be even more in-stored for them.

The atmosphere was electric inside of the Colonial Life Arena.
It was set up like real SEC football game at Williams Brice Stadium.

Carolina Gamecocks and Community Wins (Final Update)

Not only are fans seeing excellent basketball coaching on Columbia, SC basketball floors they are also seeing a great community diplomat in action. With a basketball program setting new records almost every time they play, receiving national recognition for gigantic achievements and signing All-American prospects, Coach Dawn Staley also shows the community that there is more to her than calling plays. There is an outreach to the community that is infectious when around her. Dawn as well has her staff and players are heavily involved from helping kids to promoting small businesses that are under the radar.

Carolina Cup 2017

With the very first step onto the freshly cut grass, the world changes. I don’t know if its the crisp smell of open air or  because it has a hint of barbecue close by... or the fact that the day is going to be a carefree day but my mind is clear of all of last week’s struggles. Parachute troopers falling from the sky, jockeys dressed in authentic uniforms and pristine white tents for over a square mile steers the mind to party time.

If you have never attended the Carolina Cup in Camden South Carolina it will be worth it to seek tickets early for next year’s event. The six horses races aren’t just the reason to come. It much more than horse races. It takes you back to a time when interaction with real people on a large scale was the only way to find out what was going on in town. That’s right Camden is a town. You don’t here much about town anymore. But it may be good to have that small town back in you again.

 there will be no pictures from the day ending.

 There is enough room to be with or without others. It's a time just to enjoy the day.

What A Great Weekend For South Carolina

 

 

Tonight the South Carolina Women's Basketball team

take on Stanford in a Final-Four match.

That is one step away from a national championship game. 

 

 

The very next day the South Carolina Men's team

take on Gonzaga in the men's Final-Four

with their chance to advance to a national championship game.

 

 

 

I'll spend most of that day at the

 

2017 Carolina Cup

in Camden, SC.

 Charleston SC
